Hackathon II - Feb 6, 2010
« on: January 20, 2010, 12:28:17 am »
Save the date.  We'll be working on the near-space balloon project, for starters, and I think Russ is developing a list of additional projects -- but don't let that stop you form posting suggestions for other things to do!

Per Chris' suggestion: Let's start getting an agenda together for this so we can crank a bunch of stuff out.

Also (to make this a Fredo-friendly Hackathon), we'll be bottling the beer we made from the first Hackathon!

Perhaps everyone could bring an Altoids tin based project. Either something they wanted to do or have done and want to improve. I was thinking of either an amp or a theramin.

Is this at Jay's house again?  Also  I thought we should start putting our events on the make calendar, we get some exposure that way, possibly even a mention in a post.  http://makezine.com/cs/user/create/event  I haven't added the hackathon myself because I was weary of putting someone else's home address on the internet.

That all sounds great! Too bad I more than likely won't make it to this Hackathon, but I'll come up with some projects on my own time and stay active in balloon discussions remotely.

Also, if you want to add a little flare to your smaller Altoids projects, I saw these in the impulse rack at Blockbuster the other day:

I don't see why a "For more information, email info@workshop88.com" would be a problem.

Yeah, a "for more information" note would work just fine.
